Stephen Amell, best known for playing Oliver Queen on The CW’s hit DC Comics series “Arrow,” appears to be taking a quick detour from Starling City to the Big Apple. Yes we hear he will be playing April O’Neils love interest in Teenage Mutants Ninja Turtle

According to Variety, Amell has just joined the cast of Paramount Pictures and Platninum Dunes’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 title Half Slell where he’ll be playing another masked vigilante, Casey Jones

Arnold Bernid “Casey” Jones is a fictional character created by Kevin Eastman, Jones and first appeared in a 1985 “Raphael” miniseries, published by Mirage Studios. Like the turtles, Casey Jones is a vigilante, and was created as a parody of vigilante characters that were in comics.

Casey has long, black hair, wears a hockey mask and sometimes cut-off biking gloves, and carries his weapons in a golf bag over his shoulder.

His weapons include baseball bats, golf clubs, cricket bats, and hockey sticks. He is a master of stealth, as he has never been caught by the NYPD despite his bizarre appearance. In most installments, he becomes a love interest of April O’Neil.

Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, and Andrew Form will return to produce the upcoming sequel which features a script by returning screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec. Megan Fox will reprise her role of April O’Neil along with William Fichtner as Eric Sacks. The original film also starred Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Jeremy Howard, Pete Ploszek, Noel Fisher, Danny Woodburn, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub. It grossed more than $485 million at the worldwide box office.

Set to be directed by Earth to Echo‘s David Green, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 is set for release on June 3, 2016.
